Please follow the rules of the board. These rules however are not set in stone and may change as we see fit. Depending on the severity, there will be punishments for not following these rules.
General Rules:
No flamming or harassing.
Flamming and harassment will not be tolerated on this forum. Flaming includes bashing another member for any reason. This also includes: condeming the person for having a difference of opinion, ranting about the person, constant badgering, and name calling. If you have an issue, PM a staff member. Don't resort to fighting.
Be respectful.
There will be some people on the forum that you will not like. However, do not allow this to get in the way of having fun here. Try and settle your differences in a civilized and respectful manner. Staff members are to be highly respected as they run the forum.
Keep cursing to a moderate level.
I don't expect members not to curse here however, the excessive use of that language is not permitted. Refrain from using curses in titles and display names. In roleplay, if cursing is part of your character, try and keep a warning at the top of the roleplay so others are aware of it. There is a personal censorship feature on this forum, please use it if you are easily offended by some words.
Religion, race, politics, sexual orientation, and other material.
Racial slurs and harassment will not be tolerated. The bashing of ANY religion and/or sexual orientation will also not be tolerated. Debates regarding these subjects are strictly prohibited. They can cause a lot of negative and unwanting feelings.
Try not to engage in debates.
Debates can become very heated and many have strong opinions on certain subjects. It is appreciated to keep all debates either not present on the forum or to a minimum. If it becomes a problem, ultimately it will not be allowed at all.
Do not bring petitions to the forum.
Petitions can cause a lot of opposing opinions and ultimately result in a heated debate. To avoid such problems, please do not post petitions on the boards. Online petitions are rarily regarded by others anyway. If you are really determined to get help, PM a few people to sign instead.
Be mindful of the younger members of the forum.
Due to the vast range of ages on this forum, some material is not appropriate here. Please do not encourage illegal behavior and/or sexual activity. No topics like "I want sex" or anything of the sort.
Art/Writing Theft: (Portion written by Sky) (Permission received awhile ago)
We do not allow it! The following falls under the category of theft...
1. Taking another's artwork and posting it as your own.
2. Taking another's artwork and posting it, even if not claiming it as your own, without written permission.
3. Tracing another's artwork and posting it as your own, without written permission and credit.
4. Posting google/other website images without written permission and credit.
5. Using another's character and role playing them without permission and credit.
6. Using templates without following their creator's rules. (i.e. Not giving proper credit.)
7. Collaborating/trading and not giving credit for either the character, coloring, or line art. (Depending on what is applicable.)
8. Plagiarism - stolen writing.
Do not spam.
I think that says enough.
More Specific Rules:
Ranting
It is understood that everyone has their bad days and would like to talk about it which is fine. However, generally ranting can actually lead to arguements. Therefore, rants of all forms are not accepted here (unless happy rants). If there is a dire situation that may threaten your life, death of someone, or just need someone to talk to, you are free to contact any staff member. They will give you advice to the best of their ability.
Roleplaying
No godmoding or power playing.
Godmoding includes:
1. Having an overly powerful character with no weaknesses.
2. Thrill killing.
3. Controlling the actions of another character including injuries and death.
4. Using OOC knowledge for IC responses.
Do not use smilies in your responses.
Express your characters emotions through writing, not through the use of emoticons.
'Thesaurus humping' is looked down upon.
The usage of words such as 'orbs' for eyes or 'tassle' for tail is for the most part not allowed here unless used at a very moderate level. It is easier for roleplayers to understand what you are trying to say if you keep words simple like 'eyes.' They can be used in small intervals but please dont over abuse words that are not part of the every day language.
Use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Use the spell check if needed. Also, writing responses in the Word program can help out in regards to those three areas listed above.
Refrain from posting 'one liners.'
One liners include posts that are less then a paragraph.
Artwork
Do not beg artists for artwork.
Please do not harass artists for artwork of your characters. If they open requests, its perfectly fine to ask but if an artist is closed, please leave them alone. This is a form of harassment and will not be tolerated.
Do not post any art theft on the forums. Please PM the administrator.
If the art theft is posted in the forums, it can cause controversy or cause a mob to attack the art thief. Please allow the administrator to handle the situation.
